TEF Canada preparation
The Test d'évaluation de français (TEF) Canada measures your French for Express Entry and PR. We take you level by level from A1 to B2, then drill the exact TEF format with realistic mock exams.
What the TEF Canada tests
Four skills: listening (compréhension orale), reading (compréhension écrite), speaking (expression orale), and writing (expression écrite). Your results convert to NCLC levels, which feed your Language CRS score.
How scoring maps to Language CRS
Hitting NCLC 7 across all four skills can add +50 Language CRS on its own, and up to +74 when combined with English. Our Language CRS calculator shows your exact projection as your level rises.
How Tefluent prepares you
You learn the underlying French once (A1→B2), then layer TEF-specific strategy and timed mock exams on top, so the language and the test format are both covered.
FAQ
How much French do I need for Canada PR?
Most candidates target NCLC 7 (roughly CEFR B2) across all four skills to maximise Language CRS points. Even NCLC 5 adds points.
TEF or TCF: which should I take?
Both are accepted for Express Entry. TEF Canada is the longer-established route; TCF Canada is equally valid. See our TEF vs TCF guide.
How long does it take to reach B2?
From a beginner start, a focused learner typically needs several months of consistent study, which is exactly what our level-wise path is built for.
